LONG HAIR:

If you have long hair or plan to use hair pieces you can wear most of the head-dresses on this site, though some will suit your face more than others.

 

 

MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR:

If you can sweep your hair back & get some height at the back of your head you should be looking at the medium & low height head-dresses plus the Moulin Rouge head-dress.

If you can get your hair back into a band & you want a larger hairstyle, you could have your hairdresser use hair pieces to create a more elaborate style. If you are going to use hair pieces to create a hairstyle with height, you have the option of any of the pieces on the site, though some will suit your face more than others.

SHORT HAIR:

Most pieces can be wired onto an alice band to enable women with short hair to wear them. Often hairdressers can manipulate your hair to cover the band so that the band is hidden & all people see is the head-dress.

Your choice of medium height head-dresses that can be attached to a band will depend on how you wear your short hair e.g. with a soft wave, body & a bit of height, in a slick bob or swept back with no height etc. For short hair the lower of the medium height head-dresses such as Sparkle, Baby Princess & Mini Titania will likely work better,  though some head-dresses will suit your face more than others.

Rosa is an easy piece to wear, as is Moulin Rouge (which would suit flamboyant dresses). Other designs can be created for short hair designed around an alice band base, so please contact me if you have something in mind.

TALL HEAD-DRESSES vs HAIRSTYLES:

To wear the tall head-dresses your hair style will need to have height & fullness at the back half of your head (see images in this album). To create the appropriate styles it helps to have lots of hair or alternatively you can incorpotate hair pieces into your hairstyle.

Moulin Rouge, the Blazing Sun crowns & the Magnolia hair pins are more versitile & can be worn with smaller hairstyles or hairstyles with less height.

Moulin Rouge can be worn with short hair & with longer hair worn down or swept up.

 

 

MEDIUM HEIGHT HEAD-DRESSES vs HAIRSTYLES:

Medium height head-dresses suit a wide variety of styles. Again, height at the back half of the head is prefferable as it helps frame the pieces but as long as you have a little height at the back these pieces will work well.

 

 

LOW HEAD-DRESSES vs HAIRSTYLES:

The smaller based crowns like Glory & Snowflake can be worn with a variety of different hairstyles.

To give them a more medieval feel, wear your hair down or in braids.

The Medieval Fleur style sits low on the head so can only be worn with hair worn down or swept back low or into braids.

Rosa suits many styles & can also be worn with short hair. To make the piece more interesting, I advise looseing one side of the bands in your hair, by either teaseing short hair out from under them or pulling longer hair back over them when the piece is in place, hense making it appear like the bands disappear into your hair.

Lacewing & the Arabian Feathers look stunning with hair swept back off the face.
